“Tri- sector leadership is a holistic leadership approach that calls for businesses to involve all three sectors: business, government, and nonprofit.” (Rosen 3). Tri- sector leadership allows businesses to take charge and to help be the solution to problems. A mega community goes beyond the single-sector approaches. Mega communities are designed to provide values and benefits to people who live and work together. The aim of a mega community is to solve large, critical problems that require the help of the government, businesses, and nonprofit organizations. As I researched mega communities and their involvement in suicide, I continued to come across articles written on the approach of mega communities tackling the world’s toughest problems. In an article written by Fernando Napolitano, he sees the world’s biggest problems as “cybersecurity, hunger, energy, and education” (Napolitano 2010). He continues by saying that, “these are the challenges for civilization that can seem overwhelming. They are deep rooted and highly complex” (Napolitano). As I read this article, I looked for the ways mega communities tried to solve these global problems and used that to help find a solution for suicide and suicide treatment. As I researched mega communities and how they targeted mental health treatment, there only seemed to be organizations working individually to solve the problem of mental health treatment such as, Active Minds and the Brain and Behavior Research Foundation.
